Dominican Republic announces U19 Girls team
SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, April 10, 2023.- The Project of
National teams of the Dominican Republic announced their U19 Girls team
that will represent their country in the 2023 Girls U19 NORCECA Pan
American Cup.
Head Coach, Brazilian Alexandre Ceccato presented the roster of 12
talented players selected from a group of 20 athletes, “we started to
train since January at the Olympic Center in Santo Domingo for two
international events of great relevance, the NORCECA Pan American Cup in
Puerto Rico and the FIVB World Championship to be held in Croatia and
Hungary in August”.
Team captain and setter Aylin Liberato alongside opposite Ariana
Rodríguez were part of the U18 and U20 national teams that competed in
the 2021 World Championship, as well as the team that won the bronze
medal in last year’s U19 Pan American Cup held in the United States.
Setter Crismeyli Paniagua, outside hitters Katielle Alonzo, Dilenny
Malenol, Phoebe Reyes and Yuseiry Ramirez, and middle blocker Yalyn
Victoria Firpo were also part of the bronze medalist team of 2022.
The middle blocker Nicole De La Cruz, opposite/middle blocker Julie
Arias, outside hitter Jismeily Flete and libero Edily Soler are new
members of the national team.
“We will try to battle for a medal, and we are working hard to achieve
it” added Ceccato.
